Beautiful As Ever Poem by Brandon McConnell

Beautiful As Ever

Beautiful as ever
The day it all went down
The way you tried to compose yourself
As your smile became a frown

Politely you explained your side
I listened but could not hear
All the words you said for all your tears
Drowned out your voice, my dear

I still do not understand
Why you would end something you treasure
We're a team, and any problems we had
We could face them all together

But now you're gone, it's over now
The dust begins to settle
You threw out all my roses
Every last dying brown petal
