I have locked myself out
of the house again,
but I don't mind
the rain is beautiful today.
The sky is full of clouds
quiet, grey, and somber,
but I don't mind
the grass looks greener because of it.
My coat has a hole in the sleeve
a large hole that surrenders my
bare skin to the brisk air all around,
but I don't mind
the chill from the cold reminds me of the fragility of life.
and as life is so very fragile,
I shall cling to it with great care.
to have,
to hold,
to cherish.
Until it passes on and death takes charge,
I shall see life for what it is:
undeniable, relentless beauty.
