Beauty In A Painting Poem by Michelle Guza

Beauty In A Painting

Painting a mural of all things beauty
The colors blend as the paint brush whips them away
The paint seems to flow right off the canvas
As if the page has no edge
the world shall act all as one
All flowing together, mixing
All together without one standing out more then the next
Each and every line connects with the last
The swirls just add to the volume
The colors just add to the beauty
As if tears falling from a young girls eyes
The colors run, mix, and smear
Carefully choosing the colors before placed then within the painting
Steady add the last few strokes to make sure everything is in place
The complicated swirls take me back to the eyes of the once loved
The bumps act as if the chills sent up the spine
The cold darkness as if from a broken soul
The paint gets lighter and lighter from left to right
As if it just seems to fade out and disappear
The “v” is sharply cutting in to the middle
The paint is slowly drying
Stepping back to admire the time well spent
It all comes together
All in one connecting everything I know
Setting the paint down on the tray I look once last time
One last deep breath out of my lips
As my back turns the paint still drying
The paint slowly cracks as it always will
The colors still together but resisting the mixture
As all in m life everything is together but may not want to be
The paint raises from the middle only to separate
Curving around just to meet back up at the end…
To make the simplest of paintings
The one of a kind shapes
The thing that makes you feel
The thing that makes you love
The red with the pinks, the pinks with the white
And even a touch of black
All formed together just to make one lonely heart…
