Been Gone So Long Poem by A . T . Perkins

Been Gone So Long

Rating: 5.0

Been gone so long, but
I've been right here
A shell of a person
Going thru the Motions, The wrong way.
To close for comfort, but out of touch,
By choice, Then by need.
Screaming l loudly in the wrong voice
A different language only I understand.
Scared back into the real world Shields down, No Defenses.
A new voice, different tone
Learning to speak the same as everyone else.
Unknown thoughts, feelings, are the road home of
Uncertainty
Not yet full circle, but
I'm almost back.
