Before It's Too Late Poem by Ludolf Dauphin

Before It's Too Late

"Give me back my heart,
you thief."
The waning moon has called.
You don't deserve it
Restless and untested
was my heart you stole
Determined to see what lies within
I took a chance
Hoping to nurture our hearts coherently
but each day seems to fade into
nothingness
Destination never reached
I was careless
Trusting and loving you so freely
Didn't realize true love was incapable
of taking, only gives
It's heartbreaking waking up
Disentangle my heart from yours
Before the point of no return.
