Before Sleep 2 Poem by Waseem Sherif

Before Sleep 2

I'm writing for all the emptiness
I hold inside
I'm writing for the lost memory
of my past life
I'm writing for all the wretched
souls in disguise
I'm writing for every dark corner
in my own mind
I'm certainly not writing for you
distortions and lies
I'm not writing for the faint of heart
no warm smiles in my rite
I'm writing for the bigger picture
of my inner fight
I'm writing for the battle within
nothing else in sight
I'm writing and the words do betray
yet no matter what, it still feels right
