Beguilingbetrayer Poem by Dr. Rani Mathew

Beguilingbetrayer

Towering cliffs
draped in soothing green
Close to heavens, ..counting stars.
Majestic is your bearing
deafening is themusic of the cataract
and scary isthe envelopinggloom.

Deadly beauty, Untamed
deadlier,is, whatyou veil..
on the crushed creepers behind.
Grazes, bruises and scratches
indecently exposed
a formless form, half buried
under leaves rotten..

Bards who sing, bards who praise
hills and vales, falls and foliage,
Chant of these betrayers, I beseech..
these, thunderous falls
that killed her blood curdling cry
when pinned down by muscles massive

Rhapsodize not
you, pantheists
these labyrinth ofthe foliage
The perfect hiding, nature made
wheresnarling dogs,
Sneaked in, on and around
Ripping her apart.
.
Standing on guard -tower like
Who do they shield-
These conspirators?
The prey or the predator?
