'Behind' Poem by Munia Khan

'Behind'

I'll never let you brood over my numbness
As long as your onion love I peel and cry
I'll never let you taste my salty confusions
As long as your closed-door I latch and sigh

Please let me know if I am not here
Let me know if I fail to find you there

For before the dawn I leave the night behind me
And before my heart I let you leave me behind.
