Being Alone Poem by Safiyyah Manjra

Being Alone

Rating: 5.0

You don't write in agony,
Just as you won't love for sympathy,
You shouldn't,
But there's no telling you wouldn't.

You are right, as I really don't know you,
I am saddened by the multiple choices I have stabbed you with.
What have I done exactly?
I've found it.
I held onto it.
I felt as though I saved you.

Then… mother speaks.
The epitome of life decisions! Crashing against my dreams which now become forbidden.
"Why do neuroscience? You'll just end up being a psychologist."
I can make a difference… I promise, let me try it's one year worth a shot.
"That biochemistry degree… you will send to the ruins, your hard work, all gone! Picture it! "
I try to and I cry,
Tears of a forgotten love.

That is only if I choose to listen.
Oh! The ear can hear, the brain processes, the heart relieves.
And what will I do?
I felt as though saving you was an illusion.

Breached satisfaction covered in a tornado of hurt.
I am blinded, so blinded.
I just want to see clear.
Feel, that I am seeing clear.
Why is there so much fog?
Where did it all come from?

When did I become a type to build a palace alone and let it be invaded by fog?
