spring enchants the grays of winter
tearing all from it that grants its power
with her charms and ease of step
she glides about divine in grace
urging each and all to bring forth life
and so they grow with sounds awakened
singing out joyous chirps with tweets
much like a love when first it stirs
I see this bird much like a leaf
there in that tree near bare but for
one crusted leaf that will not go
or is it so that it might be
another bird in camouflage
like a leaf, or is there
any bird at all, instead
I think it is another leaf
so ponder as I did
I could not figure which it was
it could not be
it could be either
one was right and I believed it was
a leaf, a leaf which left
its lonely perch to join the rest
when a wind tore through
from the night before
like a storm
it came
then gone it was
gone, gone forever
it was gone, nothing left
to leave me, as with all concerns
that cover every heart and soul,
with one question, a matter of belief
