Belief In The Divine Wisdom A Shield Poem by Mohammad Younus

Belief In The Divine Wisdom A Shield

Belief in the divine wisdom a shield,
Guard against illusions and delusions,
A medicine to heal the self's disease,
A magic granting the presence divine
The sacred light, guidance to the truth.

A weapon with lightning's brilliant flash
To strike at foes within, the enemies
Of God, to sever thorny, poisoned plants,
And sow the seeds of virtue in the heart.

There is no way to mend the wicked self,
Yet knowledge from the divine indeed heals,
The wounds inflicted by the errant self.
Like modern scars from internet misuse,
These wounds of heart demand a wise repair,
A healing balm of wisdom from divine.

For there's no pain greater than that of self,
The nafs, when left to wander unbridled.
So seek the light, the shield, the divine cure,
In wisdom, find you must the healing sure.
