Bells Ringing, Brain Suffocated - Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

1-the bells be ringing
The brain is suffocated
With their sounds
And it be night…
The moon has risen
From the suffering
For a while
For a while..
Then
It will return
To its old suffering
As usual
As usual
How gaudy be Sub-Consciousness!
Images pass
Thoughts pass
And
With them in Sub-Consciousness:
The bells are ringing
In the long distance
Where the wind blows
I hear them
2-verses
New forms
New experiments
The waters walk with
Feet.
The time is come.
Come! the shroud be
Ready.
Of Immortality we thought
Of Immortality we dreamed
But that be
Passing.
But that be
Passing.
We Immortality had
At hand.
As sand in sand-glass it
Escaped.
And with it Time passing.
3-Sudden the bell tolls
Sadness.
What church?
What church?
So as in this
Experiment
The film of life
The film of history
Pass.
And
We are moving
Therefore
Time's escaping.
4-the verses ring
Sing
The winds occasional
And Time fleet passes.
Dream! Dream!
The sub-conscious weighs
Your eyes
Dream! Dream!
Time be passing.
Motion be passing.
The waters slowly turn
Restless
Of Time the urn.
Dream! Dream!
As yet
The satyrs have not come
Not come…
5-I would see it in
The face and
Slowly turn:
The birds in the cage
Were drowsing.
O! to pass life and
Breath and soul
Drowsing
Drowsing.
At eight in the morning
Tolled
The bell solemn.
Then
Further rang and
Rang.
Verses in experiment
Are
Fast melting
As life…
As life…
There's the warning of Time
I saw it from a little
Distance far
I breathed the scent
Odorous
Of Time in changing.
I saw from a little
Distance far.
And waves
Thewaves were rolling
The Ocean was rolling
The waters swell
The waters swell, my Monsignor…
The waters swell with Time
And Time hand in hand
With Motion passing.

Piano Plays Alone
Piano
The
Keyboard
The
Notes
Play
Alone
Magic
Hands
Invisible< br>But
Then
Here
All
Sub-conscious be!
The
Piano
That
Plays alone
