Bench Therapy Poem by Andy Barrette

Bench Therapy

I'd take a swinging bench
over a stuck one any day
for its sounds that fill the silence
when I don't know what to say.
Its gentle creaks console me
when I can't comfort myself
and it's rusty chains will rock away
the pains of my poor health.
