Beneath The Surface Poem by Chiamaka Uba

Beneath The Surface

Deep down, there's a longing
That may never be filled

Deep down, there's a hole
An endless hole

Deep down, there's a river
Of endless tears

Deep down, there's a feeling
Of wanting to be loved

Deep down, there's a chest
Filled with unspoken words

Deep down, she's there
With silent moving lips

Deep down, there's a wound
That can never heal

Deep down, there's a child
That just wants to be loved.
