Beneath The Waves, A Secret Sways Poem by Mohammad Younus

Beneath The Waves, A Secret Sways

Beneath the waves, a secret sways,
A song that time cannot erase.

The whales cry out in voices deep,
A hymn the tides are sworn to keep.

Their music threads the ocean's spine,
A pulse that stirs the shifting brine.

Each note they sing shapes waves in tune,
A silvered chant beneath the moon.

They call through dark, where echoes gleam,
Their breath sustains the ocean's dream.

Yet distant hearts drift far, unmoored,
Deaf to wisdom sung before.

The echoes fade, half-lost, unsure,
A language dimmed, its lines obscure.

And as we turn from ocean lore,
The thread unravels evermore.

But hope remains—a spark, a sound—
To hear, to heed, to turn around.

For if we listen, we'll reclaim
The bond that hums within our name.

The whales still call, their voices clear,
A plea to guard what we hold dear.

Should silence fall, the sea will seal
A door no hand can break or heal.

So rise, defend this sacred strain,
Lest waves forget their own refrain.

For in their voices, wild and free,
The ocean speaks—I am the sea.
