Best Be Thankful To The Lord Poem by Benjamin Chiu Uy

Best Be Thankful To The Lord

Best Be Thankfull To The Lord

As i am still walking this earth,
As long as my shadows are still seen following me in my footsteps and walk to the city i know l am still alive.

As long as my ears are recieving thesesounds, tangible presence of activities, and these small motions of the other lives,
I am still greatfull,

As long as these hair folliclesare still able to feel the tangible presence of a breeze, i am gratefull,

As long as i am still witnessing these small ants and sprout of roadside grasses, l ought to be gratefull,

As as i am still charmed and hypnotized by these beautiful young ladies, i am grateful.

As long as l can see and evade these oncoming cars and the traffics.

I know that God is still giving me this enormous gift of life,
And i know however kindly or unkindly as my aging body may accept, meted out their subsequent deterioration,
All the wise or the unwise succeeding punishments and surprises and even death,

I am still greatfull for you Lord for this simple entitlement.

If it had been the worst of a journey,
The rides are still appreciated by this unworthy vessel,
If it had been all good fortunes then what have i earned to recieved these granduos largees and excesses,

The spirit of the universe are following their own course of inalienable justice,
Along their own path of determination,
Their own assemblage of logic,

I, puny man in my selflish ignorance,
In my own selish inappropriate arrogance,
In my own moments of defeats, or bravados, cannot altered a single opinion you are giving to me,

Yours are these decisions that areoff limits on the table for a plea or a bail,
Your wiles and succeding dictums are resolute and stern,
Are to be followedand obeyed,
I man best accepts what is offered to me and best be thankfull.
