I find my heart betraying me
In a way I can’t abide
It seems to be beating without my permission
At a most terrible speed.
I feel my pulse in my fingertips
And trailing down into my toes.
My blood rushes to my heart
And leaves my mind gasping for air
In the haze I see fantastic shapes
Filled with joy and
Left without a care
I wish to join them in the grove they dance
If only this world would give me half a chance
They move with me and invite me in
Though with them I cannot go
Else I lose myself and all I know
You make them come
Those sprites of fancy, dancing in your eyes
You make my pulse rush to my fingertips
With each touch I succumb to it
My heart is trying to escape to reside with you
Leaving my mind to gasp
And live in fantasy
Please help me to not get lost
In the forest of your love
