Betrayal Poem by Marquel Patrick

Betrayal

I was born with a blind faith, but time slowly took that away
Now you have to prove to it me, before I can believe what you say
I amaze the older people by questioning whatever I may
They have the nerve to ask why; not knowing that pain made me this way
I been stab in the back before and yeah that hurt
to make matters worse by good girl one that said she went to church
Well do they not teach loyalty in church anymore?
Or did she miss that day? Did she leave early to go to the store?
Who would have guessed that my best friend….. my lover was a _____
I looked at her as she stab me and watched her as I bled on the floor
Et tu brute were the words I uttered as she walked toward the door
Pain anger and shame consumed me as I thought I did something wrong
And for I while I moped around crying and singing sad songs
Then a thought came over me a light came on a revelation had dunned
I can't keep letting all of my blessings go by
By being anger trying to find why
