Patience Poem by Marquel Patrick

Patience

They say patience with others is love
Patience with your-self is hope
And patience with GOD is faith
But I have no patience with anybody
I have no love hope and faith
All I have is anger pain and sorrow to take its place
I aint got the time to slow down and run your race
I aint got the time to slow down run at your pace
I'm aint even got the time to look you in your face
My mama say boy you go learn to slow down
And I say yeah when I'm old and gray
I laugh and say, who needs patience anyway?
I hear a voice whisper in my ear you do
You want to know why all you have anger pain and sorrow
You want to know why your heart is cold and hollow
Because you move to fast you need to learn to sit and wait on me
And I promise I will let you see
All the wonders of the world
I'll help you find that one girl … that's for you
I'll even make sure you succeed at all that you do
So I decided to try it
And before I know it I was like buy it
I no longer had a reason to frown
I no longer held my head down
My whole life turned around
And the voice said see how easy life can be
When you just slow down and are patient with me
