Betrayal

She held onto the rail
and looked at her face in the mirror,
She saw betrayal;
her confidence once strong, now gone.
How could he have done that,
in that same space, so close to her,
as if she was invisible?

She bent forward to see
if her deep agony could be seen.
She wanted to flee; .
her jouissance once strong, now gone.
Why did he choose her friend,
in that same space, so close to her
as if she was invisible?

She shuddered as if damned
by the shockwave of her new knowing.
Her marriage now shamed;
her aliveness once strong, now gone.
What was in his mind then,
in that same space, so close to her,
as if she was invisible?

her sense of trust once strong, now gone.
Why did he betray us,
in that same space so close to her
As if she was invisible?
