Betrayal Of A Blind Girl Poem by Ishrat khan

Betrayal Of A Blind Girl

Since childhood once there was a blind girl
Who had animosity towards the world
She kept herself aloof for she had no friends
Except her only one true boyfriend
Who supported and loved her immensely
And she too fell in love with him
He offered her for marriage with all his heart
She agreed without having a second thought
One day to him she had much cried
For she wanted to see him but had no sight
Suddenly, someone gave her a great surprise
One fine day, she was donated two pair of eyes
She was very happy and called her boyfriend around
And got astonished when her boyfriend is also blind she found
Seeing him eyeless she changed her mind immediately
She wondered 'how can i live with a person who cannot see? '
She excused him 'I cannot marry you! '
Realising that her interest decreased, he meekly replied 'take care of yourself and my eyes too'
