Caged Bird Poem by Ishrat khan

Caged Bird

Rating: 5.0

'I'm caged' she cried
No help seemed to free her
She was locked inside
Nd left in fear
She couldn't fly
yet she sang for her freedom
To reach help she tried
but were harmed like a treason
'How Cruel is the world! ' she thought
prisoned for no reason
With disgrace she was brought
with her wings broken
Her life full of darkness
and caged to death
She was put in harshness
yet hoped for rebirth
She believed world is beauty
but met with nightmare
And this was her reality
who really no one cared
They abused her nd provoked
and left alone to die
With cold hearted they mocked
at their ugliness she cried
She stopped looking at stars
found no hope while despair
Survived with scars
only her sorrow glared
She stabbed herself
while dying inside
Now u tell me
Was it a murder or a frail suicide?

She stopped looking at stars She stabbed herself / while dying inside.... //.... The poem reflects the pain and struggle of a women during their life especially in this part of the world where they are made to suffer due to male chauvinism and feudal mindset.
