Betrayed Poem by Felix Otiende

Betrayed

Betrayed
I was so lonely
Drinking grief
With unseen wound yet so painful
Walking on fire that consumed my heart and my soul

My life was attached to pets
Then I picked a white like dog
My only friend and family
Who I trained for months and shared a lot

She knew my ways and my strength
We hunted together
Only for her to eat all my gathering with her kind
She left nothing but eggshells and bitter memories

Yes! White in colour she was and dark inside
How couldn't I see her coming to destroy me completely?
You can't change a wolf
Let me keep my own company
