Betrayed By The Flesh Poem by Ann Dewyze

Betrayed By The Flesh

Rating: 5.0

Oh Lungs,
Why does it feel like I am suffocating?
My chest rises and falls as it should but I cannot breathe
Oh Stomach,
Why are you filled with butterflies?
Of all shapes and sizes.
Oh Brain,
Why so you think of him so often?
You know better than to be so flustered
Oh dearest heart,
Why must you beat so? You betray me with every thump
He will hear you, and he will know
That I love him so

You can't choose who you fall in love with. And it's hard to switch off from it. A great poem.
