If my eyes search for sinful scenes,
Reveling in its joy,
The sin belongs to me alone,
Whether a girl or boy.
If my ears love to hear gossip
And lies about others,
The sin belongs to me alone,
And not to my brothers.
If my mouth talks just unkind words.
And causes wounds of heart,
The sin belongs to me alone,
However I am smart.
If my hands does just sinful acts,
And mortal sins God hates,
The sin belongs to me alone,
And I near hell's broad gates.
If my mind thinks of unclean thoughts,
And know they hurt the Lord,
The sin belongs to me alone,
I don't live by the Word.
If my heart breaks God's ten commands,
And stays in mortal sins,
The sin belongs to me alone,
And satan clearly wins.
If my body unchaste becomes,
All through my only fault,
The sin belongs to me alone,
In fire of hell 'twill halt.
