Beyond Humans Poem by Kenneth Maswabi

Beyond Humans

In the absence of humanity
The sun will still rise
The moon will find its path in the dark
The stars will continue to play their blinking game
The night will still harbor darkness
And day and night will still hold each other's hand

In the absence of humanity
Time will cease to exist
Clocks and watches will lay idle
With nothing to count
All seconds and minutes destroyed
And all timelines and schedules shredded

In the absence of humanity
Education will stop flowing
As books will lay rotten in their shelves
Schools dilapidated
Classrooms wilted
And playgrounds empty

In the absence of humanity
Technology will be frozen
All Apps closed
IPhones dead
And no lies
Just the truth

In the absence of humanity
Poverty will be unknown
As selfishness will be cancelled
No first and third world
All boundaries deleted
No racial profiling
As the color of the skin will be unnoticed

In the absence of humanity
Planet earth will thrive
Animals will multiply
Climate change will be halted
And the sky will be clearer

In the absence of humanity
Everything will be nothingness
Reality will be unknown
As logic will be absent
Insanity normalized
And the universe will be a safe place again

In the absence of humanity
Consciousness will be displayed
Only in the mind of God
