Beyond Our Capable Minds Poem by Alison Mary Dunn

Beyond Our Capable Minds

Beyond our capable minds
Something lies in waiting
I feel but cannot see it
And you and I look on

There sleeping in the darkness
A pure and deep awakening
Still yet to be discovered
And feel the warmth of dawn

Between the tender kiss
There is a spiritual bond
Which lies along the cusp
Yet you and I look on

Our words eclipse its tongue
Its voice to never sing
So we may never know
The wonder it could bring

So far outside our grasp
To ever comprehend
In motion with the tide
An ocean with no end

Yet I so long to find it
And searching for the signs
I dream we’ll meet the something
Beyond our capable minds
