Beyond The Clouds Poem by Pleasant Dabbs

Beyond The Clouds

The sun it sinks in the westward skies
Clouds dress in pink
Rehearsing for the sunrise
The night seemed long
But soon the dawn
Is scratching at your door
Bringing love's surprise
You've had a long night of sorrows
You'll share a long day full of love
And when it rains on your tomorrows
Up far above the clouds
The light still shines above

The Sacramento freeway
Was still warm from your last free day
Out to see her
Soon June's "hello"
Turned into a July "I know"
As August's love grew deeper
You've had a long night full of sorrows
You'll share a long day full of love
And when it rains on your tomorrows
Up far above the clouds
The light still shines above

The mystic mists of morning
Hover over spires adorning
Sacred wedding grounds
The loneliness of months and years
Dissolved in streams of joyful tears
As children playing hide and seek
Stop long enough to take a peek
Through mirrors hanging on the wall
You lift your eyes and see them all
Like grains of sand upon the seashore
Abraham assures you that you will have more

You've had a long night of sorrows
You'll share a long day full of love
And when it rains on your tomorrows
Up far above the clouds the light still shines above
Up far beyond the clouds the bright light shines above
Way up beyond the clouds the heavenly light is love
