Beyond The Hills - Poem by aida melesse

As the cloud floats up in the hills
We watch it from a distance
We think we are so far away and can’t reach it..
And then in an instant,
It brings itself to us
filling us with wonderment
of its changes-
We chase it
as it transforms
into an elephant,
a monster...
a flying bird…
and before we know it
our heads are encircled by it
becoming what it is;
and we see
what we are
beyond the hills
from a distance.
