Bible Study Poem by Randy McClave

Bible Study

Pretend that we are in Bible study
Pretend that I am your church going buddy,
And the teachings of Jesus we are learning
So, in Hell in condemnation we won't be burning.
We are devout Christians we tell one and all
We both have heard Jesus's call,
So, with the Lord we will always follow him
As we sing our love and praises to our Lord in a hymn.
We read about the hungry 5000 that Jesus had fed
And the starving and hungry which he gave bread,
And the hungry 4000 that he had fed as well
Which in every Bible study does tell.
Jesus said to help the poor and also the needy
And entering heaven will be difficult for the rich and greedy,
Then unto my buddy who is a devout Christian
I asked him to read the Bible and now please listen.
Why did you help put billionaires in charge
Their wealth couldn't be contained or held in a barge,
They don't know what it's like to be hungry or poor
And they don't worry or care for the sick that need more.
Why do you support those with the evil that they do
Why do you pretend of their hate you have not a clue,
And budgets and laws for them they are shaping and carving
Why do you think it's okay taking food from children that are starving.
Our Bible study then abruptly ended
As my buddy feelings got hurt and he got offended,
He then said if anyone doesn't work in our country
Whether they are man, woman or child they should go hungry.
