Bidemi Poem by Adams King

Bidemi

Rating: 5.0

The skies are silent tonight
Where is Bidemi?

She's where the vultures hovers
Jubilating over perished flesh
She's where the blood of a man
Serves as wealth for another

She's where the lifeless lie
With headless bodies
And blood to serve as wine
For evil me with greedy desires

Oh Bidemi your end is here
Life is short but yours is shorter

If only you knew Bidemi
That man was a ritualist
If only you knew Bidemi
That your head was next

Will I blame you for this
For evil men disguise as saints
How were you to know
That those wealth were acquired

By the blood of innocent girls
Who seek a purse of gold
And a better life of honey
Where comfort is her throne

Oh Bidemi rest silent
Surely my heart is grieved

I shall write your name
On a poem of sorrow
With my ink of red
To say you goodbye

I shall cry till this tears
Of mine an ocean must create
And every salty drop
Your name must echo

The night still stays quite
Till the morning cock came crowing

Bidemi's mother woke at dawn
To find her daughter's bed empty
She troubled not at all
And lie awaiting her return

Only if she knew
That Bidemi will never return
Only if she knew
That her daughter is dead and gone

The skies still stay silent
And slowly invites another night

Bidemi! Bidemi! Bidemi!
Her mother calls out in tears
If only she knew Bidemi is gone
To where her words cannot be heard
