Big Mouths And Big Egos Poem by Francis Duggan

Big Mouths And Big Egos

A sad age to live in it does seem indeed
When those into self promotion are those most likely to succeed
We live in the times of the i, myself and me
But there should be more to life would you not agree

Than promoting ourselves though self love is a good thing
Our own praises we can tend to over-sing
And big mouths and big egos it does seem sad to say
Towards success can carry their owners a very long way.

Of big mouths and big egos there is no scarcity
In a World where so many lack in empathy
For people who struggle just to make ends meet
To survive to them is a notable feat.

'Tis true that self promotion is not a way of the wise
And that empty vessels do make the most noise
But few seem to notice those who do seem shy
And than big mouths for their success much harder they must try.

In a World where thousands grow poorer for each new millionaire
Big mouths and big egos nowadays are not rare
Promotion of self for many is the in thing 'twould seem
And our big egos nurture our sense of self esteem.
