Bigger, Better And Stronger Poem by Heba Mahmood

Bigger, Better And Stronger

Rating: 5.0

I’m always mistaken, nobody gets my words
I feel like calling quits and fleeing away from this world
Why am I always neglected, don’t I have any value?
Everything about me is worthless to every single one of you

They say I’m a loser and I can’t progress in life
So if I’m destined to lose then what’s the point to fight?
Heck I’ve got no looks and I’ve got no brains
And I’ve got no money to hide it all away

Maybe they’re right! Maybe it was meant to be
That I will never fit in or secure my dignity
But wait! Who are they the one’s to judge what ahead of me lies
They can’t decide my ways for me, it is I who will pilot my own life

This time there’s no holding back
I’m going to let the light shine on me
Because it’s not me who’s fat, dumb or weird
But it’s the society who’s ugly

No more hiding in the shadows,
I’ll show the world what I can really do!
Because this time I’m bigger, better and stronger
And if I don’t care then you can’t hurt me too!

So all that I sum up through this experience of life
It just keeps going on and you have to strive
And it’s okay if you stumble or fall along the way
Just get back up and without a doubt march straight

I know that dreams are hard to follow
But don’t let anyone’s bitter words tear them away
Just keep holding on because there will be tomorrow
And I’m sure in time you’ll find the right way

So let yourself flourish
And don’t care what other people would say
It’s your life so you live it
Just have a little faith and surely you’ll do okay

Wow Heba! Again I am impressed! Thank you again for honoring me with the chance to comment on your poem. This poem exceeds your first write in my book because it is more daring and revealing of your fierce desire for justice in the world. Fight on brave heart! Here's hoping you inspire many other young women to insist on basic fairness and respect for themselves as well! Please give us a little biographical info won't you. It is so much fun to know that at least for the moment I am your #1 fan on PH! I will write you a more personal note soon!
