Bird Dance Poem by Jeshua Logsdon

Bird Dance

I watch you from above, little songbird
You perch yourself below without a fear
You take a deep breath in and mutter a word
That same sweet song falls softly on my ear

You sing with such devotion in your voice
To the one you gave your heart to long ago
And then with soul abreast, without a choice
I gently dropp down to the branch below

I’ll give my love to you, if you’ll accept
I’ll spend my days in awe of all you do
We’ll waste away for ‘ere in search of depth
And live as though our love was always true

And still, I sit alone below the sky
To catch a glimpse of love, as it flies by.
