Bird Of Peace & Freedom Poem by Guess Who

Bird Of Peace & Freedom

Rating: 5.0

There I was under a bloody shield
Born alone in a deserted field
I took a look around my surrounding
There was damage and lots of corpses
It was strange, All dead even feelings
But what is this blood?
Who caused this flood?
A young man passed then another
Followed by others colder than a freezer
I caught up and touched one's shoulder
A second later i was dead watching them leave
I grabbed another faintly by the sleeve
I didn't understand; I was simply ignored
Every time I get to someone I'm treated violently
I did nothing to be treated rudely
Some killed me, others knocked me
Some choked me, But i don't surrender easily
Is this what we suffer daily?
Isn't there anything to do?
Something to stop such bloodshed?
Something to teach such head?
At least teach them to respect me
I the bird soaring free
As white transparent to humanity
Spreading love and hope
Spreading the ways to cope
Spreading tolerance and wisdom
After all I'm the pigeon of Freedom
Soaring over earth: A free Kingdom
