Birds Poem by Phurpa Wangdi

Birds

a bird beautiful
sings a song
heard by all
a song that praises its beauty

somewhere distant
a bird not so colorful
whispers a sad tune
lacking power in its voice

the sky is his
the ocean is his
with his beauty
he leaves all mesmerized

it sings its songs
day after day
feeling more brave
until he can no longer sing

and suddenly a day comes
a man with a net arrives
before even aware
it finds its way into the net

there it is
trapped in a cage
out in a place so busy
so noisy he just cant take it

and now all understand
the truth about beauty
singing sad tune stops
loving what nature did to them

beauty is but a danger
the only thing the caged birds think
now they sing
a song of freedom

yearning to fly
there wings are tied
in a space too tight
it sings but a sad song.

Somewhere distant with the muse of life. Nice work.
