'Birthday' Poem by Pushpinder Kaur

'Birthday'

‘Birthday'

The clock strikes 12'
The ‘Birthday Eve'- the cutting of the cake…
Linking with children on Skype-

Is a birthday celebration enough
Because we happened to be born?

A birthday- is the celebration
Of the mother's pain and sacrifice
In making your existence a possibility!

The birth day is a rebirth for a Mother
Hence, deserving to be celebrated each time!

A birthday is the carrying on
Of the fruit of love
Which makes the Tree of love
Grow, and bear fruit.
