Birthday Poem Poem by Marilyn Lott

I thought I'd write a birthday poem
And yes, that poem's for me
We do not need to count the years
I'm still here; it's a blessing, you see.

It isn't about the cards and notes
Don't get me wrong, I truly love them
But I feel so very lucky
Each one of you is a special gem.

I love my family and my friends
They seem to hang in there
I have material things as well
So many that I really could share.

I look back and see that technology
Has incredibly advanced
Folks believed in something strong
Stood fast and took the chance.

I spend much time on the Internet
There are many pros and cons
But for myself, I can truly say
It is a place I am extremely fond.

I write my poems, I post pictures
That I love to gather up and share
And really, I truly love to get
Birthday messages to show you care!
