Black Dance Poem by Brown mbadiwe

Black Dance

1. Friends led to the ship, tied to chains. In solace we're matched as flocks.

2. Sang with our heart and mind, across turbulent times and water.

3. Unheard sermons from our captors, we chorused in solidarity as we bled.

4. Crossed from ourselves, from not returned.

5. Drenched from our bloody mass. Emendicate, emaciated seeking emendation

6. Beating for asking, requesting. Whipped for looking. Shootings, for a good time.

7. Death in peace, I couldn't ask for a better. Relish, prequel and sequel.
