Blank Poem by Jake Gassiot

Burning
The heat so intense
I feel my flesh soften
It starts to liquefy
I fell the meaty liquid drip
It stains my clothes
It stains my eyes
The smell of hair singeing
I feel no pain
Why cant I feel my body dieing
Why doesn’t physical obliteration
Do anything to my spiritual side
Why is my spirit soaring
When my body is defeated by flames
I am held here, in this corpse
To see what happens
But I cant feel
So why do they keep me here
Must I learn something before moving on
What could it be
Why do my eyes hurt
When nothing else does
Why are they wet
Are those… tears
Why have I cried
When I am oblivious to pain
I will never know
An everlasting search
For the knowledge to set me free
That little lesson which will end all of this
But until then I live on
Searching, unfeelingly
