Blatancy Poem by Achim Wollscheid

Blatancy

Why is the world so openly blatant?
To my left the woman is causing pain
To the man to my right whose internally breaking.
If she could see deeper
Would she still not care
That she slowly kills the man standing there?
He is going through changes,
All through his mind
He’s evolving and devolving with time.
His world revolves around his desperate methods
Of drinking and indulging to have a good life,
But he harbors guilt when he cheats on his wife.
‘How can I get away’
Is what he always wonders,
But his body and mind follow after his desires.
Sometimes he, like everyone, is better off
In the empty state of depression,
Because through this period,
One has the chance to gain recognition.
He, while in his brokenness, sought to find meaning
Higher than the one he’d always known.
A greater purpose, through God, was shown
And he felt comfort and love,
But the woman spitting flames tore the very traces of
All the resistance he went through.
Why are we so evil and corrupt?
Why do we tear down and destruct
Instead of mend and build up?
There is a world of opportunities
To greatly affect people’s lives,
But why do we use these chances
To destroy, reject and connive?
