Blind Poem by Ashley Throckmorton

Blind

Finally I have their eyes
To show them what he hides inside
But they never want to believe
All the pain he has caused me

I lay in bed every night
Covered in the tears I've cried
I feel as if I am blind
Yet all these lights are all so bright

Liars, liars, they all are
Can't believe they've pushed this far
To tell me that his love is great
But doesn't know how to portray

Then blind, yes, I must be
For his love I shall never see
Or maybe it is they who are blind
Blinded by all the lies

But I shall make them see someday
That there is no love to portray
With new sight they will believe
And on that day I shall be free

Free, yes, free of all the lies
That come from his hazel eyes
And no longer shall I be
Blinded by the word 'Daddy'
