Blindness Poem by Javeria Aslam

Blindness

I have seen a blind man walking down the road,
I cant believe the story he told.

He said when he was about 4 years old,
He got hit by a car cause' he was playing on the road.

The driver never stopped but ran away,
The ambulance driver wasn't working that day.

So some stranger knelt by him and pray,
And a station wagon appeared to take him away.

Never found out who the person was who hit him,
Never found out who the person was who sat with him.

Never found out who the person was who took him in,
Never doubted who the person was who listened to him.

Cause' he said a prayer or two,
Helped him Lord to pull through.

He lost his sight but now he can see,
Has a smile on his face as wide as can be.

He knows he never walks alone,
His presence has really shown.

This blind man's vision was beyond description,
Some might call it a bad affliction.

But just remember having eyes to see,
Doesn't mean you can actually see.
