Blue Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Blue

Blue apart
And
Green of
Jealousy
Eyes
Giant
And
Red
The
Colors
Speak
How
The
Colors
nigh
Nigh
The
Thunder
Sparks
The
Lightning
roars
Speak.

Yes, colors speak. You don't identify what the title color BLUE means to you. For Georg Trakl, BLUE meant spiritual vision and often inner peace; for Wallace Stevens, it symbolized the Imagination. And then there is that indigenous American vocal music THE BLUES, which celebrates life itself, despite the hardships, as a sweet and wonderful gift. You associate two other colors with emotions, but blue is just itself at the beginning of the poem. // These long, dangling SKINNY POEMS seem to be impromtus, spontaneous and evocative.
