Blue-Boy Poem by Lawerence Mize, Sr.

Blue-Boy

Rating: 5.0

Country music songs
Brought on a flood
Memories of the past
Friends bound like blood

Thought of a man
Who took me in
Gave me a break
To get me going again

Painter by trade
A hard working man
He played the guitar
Like nobody can

Blue-boy he was
From the Carolina hills
Made me sad
When I heard he was killed

An accident took him
In the prime of his life
The road was dark
It was late at night

I often think
Of this selfless man
How he helped
When he gave me a hand

We're molded by people
Who see us through
Made better by the things
That they say and do
