Blue Smoke In The Woods - Poem by ABD ELHAMID REMILI

it was some silent wintery evening
as my feet took me away for wandering
along the pine forest down the river
the waters were dark, the forest deeper
**********
'at dusk, the weird whispers rise from the trees
the air filled space, spills out a piny breeze
i get the feel of chill as the trees tremble
as the moist dirt makes my feet stumble

somehow i get into the dark blue maze
tall trees go up like giants in misty haze
i catch the glimpse of shady silhouettes
dancing like indians in quite pirouettes

sparking shafts flying from dying fire
the shadows not ever the least, aware
the dancing goes around and around
that i stand bewitched, stuck to the ground'
*********
i woke from a dream on a poetic theme
the pen in hand and the fingers steam
the sky growing dark, leaving no beam
save a dead fire and the shadows unseen
