Bonne Nuit. (Translation) . Poem by Michael Walker

Bonne Nuit. (Translation) .

Qui separe ceux-la qu'elle devrait unir;
Restons ensemble encore,

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
See Poem Hunter/ P.B. Shelley/ 104/324 for the English.
The poet does not like to hear his love say good-night, as it means that they will be separated. He will be left alone and lonely in the night. The night is good only if the couple stay together.
The three quatrains, which rhyme; abab, are very convincing to me: they are well structured.
