Born In Sin (1) Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Born In Sin (1)

The world’s content to play her game
As though there’s nothing wrong
Concealing filth, outrageous shame
Singing a righteous song

What makes her children act this way?
Why should we play the clown?
God’s Truth ordained to dawn one day
Will surely bring us down

The bible says we’re born in sin
All seeking love and care
So change must come from deep within
God’s fellowship to share

Instead, we wear a smiling face
We camouflage our lie
We’ll act serene so full of grace
Yet secretly we cry

Too proud to show the world outside
The loneliness apart
We seek behind a mask to hide
The truth that gnaws the heart

Our battles start within the mind
Life’s war, midst ear and ear
And though The Lord is far from blind
We show Him little fear

We’re far too lost in selfish lust
Wrapped up in worldly gain
This all to Jesus’ sheer disgust
Filling God’s heart with pain

It’s time to see our greatest need
Put self into the grave
Cut down and burn the devil’s weed
And pray God’s Lamb will save…PTO…
