Born To Mortality Poem by Francis Duggan

Born To Mortality

We are born to mortality why otherwise pretend
No matter what you achieve in life your life comes to an end
Every past great name of human history not so great today
Eventually they died life works in this way
Whatever you achieve in life you too must die
A life without death is based on a lie
Sooner or later on some night or day
The Reaper of lives will come reaping your way
The one who does not seem of your status to care
If you are a pauper or a billionaire
The one who claims all lives makes equals of all
To the scythe of death we eventually do fall
The longest lived human life in time not a long span
On average a few years more for a woman than it is for a man.

Death is conclusion of life. In fact it is ultimate destination of our lives. Nothing we can carry along with us for our cosmic eternal journey. You have beautifully insighted bitter reality through your creation.
