Borrowed Time Poem by Lacie Hebert

Borrowed Time

We're all just living borrowed days,
Walking through familiar ways.
Counting years and counting scars,
Wishing on impossible stars.

We spend our youth in such a rush,
Certain forever belongs to us.
Then suddenly the seasons change,
And time begins to rearrange.

The faces in the photographs
Become reminders of the past.
And every wrinkle, every line,
Is proof we've traveled through our time.

So hold your people while they're near.
Say what matters while they're here.
Because tomorrow isn't owed.
It's simply another road.
